Sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes the Game wardens, Rain, Turkey's, and Cow Pies are part of what makes a story so great. Sometimes...they all come together into one awesome hunt!
Head to the field with A-Aron as he chases his first ever Montana Merriam as one of 20 lucky tag holders in Region 4.
There is just something about being there for someone else's first experience at one of your favorite things.
We aren't always sure where life will take us, especially being in the military, however we can rest assured there are just people and experiences we are meant to meet and have. This hunt...is where all of that comes together!
You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. - Psalm 16:11
Life has a way of taking us places. We meet new people, explore new environments, and get a fresh perspective on old things.
Like Iron Sharpens Iron (Proverbs 27:17) Kevin taught Aaron how to flyfish this summer, and in turn, Aaron get Kevin into hunting.
No matter how much we think we know, there is always room to explore. Follow Aaron and Kevin as they picked a new spot on the map in search of filling some deer tags!
It's not every day we get to get into the woods to try our luck on game.
This makes taking a day to dust off the ol' deer rifle and reset our sights even more important so we are ready when we get to hit the field on game day.
Preparation in faith is the same. We might not always know when we will need to have that answer ready, but when it comes, it pays to have studied the good Word so we can be an encouragement to the world around us.
1 Peter 3:15
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:14
So spend time with those who will keep you focused on that path, and have plenty of Target practice.
Any day in the field is a special one, but getting to check a box on your bucket list on Veterans day is even better!
A-Aron (USAF Vet) chases Montana Mule Deer for the first time, and gets the chance he's been hoping for for a long time!
Like everything else God created, there is much to be learned by simple observation.
A wild turkey during mating season will run headlong into its own fate by ignoring not so subtle warnings that something may be wrong with the decoy he is trying to run off.
Examples include a 225lb man with a shotgun pointed at his head, only half hidden behind some tattered feathers.
Point is...be careful who you chase. It could be the last time you gobble down some turkey nuggets.
God answers prayers in three ways: Yes, No, and Wait....
Well the wait is over folks! Jess is officially on the huntress map after chasing game for 10 years across 3 different states.
After some tough luck and a lot of waiting, I think it is safe to say that He had a much better plan waiting for just the right time, in the right place, and for just the right shot.
Enjoy!
A-Aron checks his Tactacam cameras to make sure everything is ready to roll for Jess's first Big Game hunt in Big Sky Country.
If she is lucky enough to harvest...we want to be prepared to capture that once in a lifetime memory...we don't know when it will happen, but we will be prepared for when it does.
"Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come."
A new series to the LTFO platform.
World renowned Mule Deer hunter, 3 time benchpress champion, and conservation enthusiast "Ranger Red" brings real world tips from his expansive semi-semi-professional experience as an avid outdoorsman.
The goal....to make you a better hunter.
"Ranger Red has already learned hunting the hard way, so you don't have to" - Ranger Red
LTFO was something laid on our hearts in our younger years, but realized as a responsibility in our 20's. This was video one, made after an awesome trip with some good friends, in an Iowa parking lot.
You don't need fancy equipment or lots of money to do what God has called you to do. You just need a go getter attitude and a willing heart! He will provide the rest!
Enjoy!!!
Putting your mind to anything is easy, following through is the tough part.
Weight lifting for me turned from a work out, to an internal desire for more.
I set the bar for 225...225 came. I set my eyes on 280...280 came. I kept raising the bar and God kept moving my target.
Life is always a series of moving targets that take us to where we ultimately end up. God doesn't set limits on us because He constantly desires more as we continue to achieve the goals he sets for us.
Are you ready for more?
You never know when God will call his soldiers home. Spend the time you have wisely with those you love, and keep those memories sweet.
We actually played hooky from our Park Ranger careers for a couple days (we put our hours in later that day and evening), but knowing now that it would be the last real time I got to spend with him, I would have skipped more than two days to go fishing with this king of the water!
RIP Jeremy, as long as there are fish in the sea, your memory will live on!
